Here’s the latest in reliability for our network. It’s nice to see things really shaping up with Node 5. Excellent work, Addora, for everything you’ve done to bring up your uptime to above an impressive 99.9%.
Felweb finished off with some major downtime yesterday, spoiling an almost unblemished record, and bringing their uptime to record lows since the network ordeal. A decline in reliability continues on Nodes 1 and 3, although this is only a minor change.
Overall, Node 6 still holds the record as the most reliable server on our network. Congratulations to Nixism and thanks for all your help to keep our websites online.
Node 6 – Nixism
Uptime last 14 days – 100.00% (No Change)No current issues.
Node 7 – HighLayer
Uptime last 14 days – 100.00% (Up 0.55%)No current issues. Not open to new accounts.
Node 5 – Addora
Uptime last 14 days – 99.92% (Up 1.71%)No current issues.
Node 3 – OSHS
Uptime last 14 days – 99.84% (Down 0.16%)Storage will not be upgraded. Closed to new accounts.
Node 1 – SmokyHosts
Uptime last 14 days – 99.38% (Down 0.16%)Storage upgrade will be complete at end of month.
Node 2 – Felweb
Uptime last 14 days – 94.9% (Down 5.1%)No current issues. Not open to new accounts.
Coming in the very near future, we will be bringing Node 4 online with a new company Webgator, which is expected to work out a lot better than Galaxy-Hosts. Will keep you posted as we progress here.
DDOS Attacks (Not Aimed At Us) July 16, 2009

Good morning everyone,
Yesterday night I received the following:
This morning, we received extortion threats against VectorLevel LLC involving DDoS attacks to cripple client servers. This individual has been involved in several large and successful high-profile attacks on large hosting companies recently and we are working very closely with these companies to form a case against him with the FBI.
To prevent these attacks from bringing down our client servers and websites, we are absolutely forced to move your account on berkeley.vectorlevel.com to a new datacenter with appropriate DDoS protection. We are working in a very tight timeframe and will be moving accounts within an hour or two. In the event that you are unable to access our website for updates, please visit our twitter feed @ www.twitter.com/vectorlevel for immediate updates.
We understand this is a major inconvenience but it is not one we could have forseen. We’re doing our absolute best to keep all customer websites up and running and will continually update you with more information as we receive it.
Thank you for your cooperation through these difficult times.
VectorLevel is the company which manages the server our main website is hosted on. There network is currently undergoing a DDOS attack, which means the site may be inaccessible during this period.
Our servers are currently under a heavy DDoS attack and connectivity to your website(s) may be sporadic. We are working our hardest to bring our servers back online and appreciate your patience. Please check our Twitter feed @ www.twitter.com/vectorlevel for more updates.
I am temporarily setting the main site to redirect to the blog in order that we will not lose visitors and directory listings. Hosting will resume as normal once this situation has resolved. Connectivity to your websites should not be affected during this period.

Node 3 Crackdown July 6, 2009

Node 3 is out of storage at present, and after 15 days of waiting I finally received a response from OpenSource Hosting Solutions, the company managing the node ,that they would only be increasing the storage for more than twice our current price, effectively lifting the price we pay to higher than any other node by 33%. This is an unacceptable rate.
The waiting list of accounts who need extra storage is increasing daily. All the empty accounts are gone, and all known violators are gone, except for those who haven’t placed ads already. There is really no choice at this point but to remove those accounts to clear the space for others.
Essentially, at this point, I’m giving everyone one week to make sure ads are placed or at least respond to the PM I’ve sent them with a plan. Then I start deleting the accounts at random, because this just isn’t fair to everyone else who is following the rules.
If you’ve placed ads, you have nothing to worry about. Everyone else, you have been warned…

Node 7 – HighLayer
Uptime last 14 days – 100.00% (No Change)No current issues. Not open to new accounts.

We will be examining Node 5 in the near future to determine the best course of action to increase reliability here, as this is still a trouble spot.
